DevBears ("we", "our", or "the developer") built Pantry Alert (the "app") as a commercial application. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and how it is protected.
The app does not require account registration and does not directly collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, or phone number.
The app uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to assign a random, anonymous identifier (UID) so the server can tell devices apart. This UID is not linked to your email, contacts, or real-world identity.
The following information is stored under that UID so the app can deliver expiration reminders and sync state across your own devices:
This data is stored in Google's Firebase Firestore and is isolated by server-side security rules so no other user can read or write it.
Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete the data stored on the server. If you'd like your data deleted, please email us using the contact details in section 8.
We use Google AdMob to display ads inside the app. AdMob may automatically collect:
Google may serve personalized or non-personalized ads depending on your consent settings. For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
The app uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to distinguish devices without requiring sign-up. This service issues a random UID and does not collect personally identifiable information.
We use Firebase Firestore to store and sync the pantry items, notification settings, and FCM tokens described in section 1. Data is isolated under your anonymous UID and is not shared with other users.
We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver expiration reminders (D-3, D-1, and day-of). This service collects:
Push notifications can be turned on or off at any time from the app's Settings screen.
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used. This service automatically collects:
This data is used in aggregate to improve the app's quality and user experience.
We use Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes and errors. When a crash occurs, the device model, OS version, and stack trace are collected. No personally identifiable information is included.
For more information about Firebase, see the Firebase Privacy Policy.
You can opt out of personalized ads on your device:
The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
User data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure and isolated by Firestore security rules so that only the owning anonymous UID can read or write it. The developer does not review individual users' data.
We recommend that you also review the privacy practices of the third-party services listed above.
Because the app uses anonymous authentication, you cannot look up or delete your account from within the app. To request data deletion, access, or correction, please email us at the address in section 8 and include approximately when you used the app so we can locate the record.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page along with an updated "Last updated" date. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
